About this Property

"Beachside Suites" suite 3 managed by Dale and Salt Water Real may be just the home away from home you are looking for! "Beachside Suites" suite 3 is a 2nd floor appealing studio condo that's just steps from our sandy shores, a brief walk to downtown CB, and all the sea sights, sounds, and experiences you are looking for!

The space

Pleasure Island has become a RAPIDLY increasing holiday destination for the entirety of the East coast and beyond for many reasons. Because we are in fact a true island, “overcrowding” isn’t in of itself a colossal issue. Limited parking and available housing will always create a inviting “max capacity” that will always give a inviting (and healthy) occupancy level and vibe that, despite the “hordes”, will always leave generous complimentary space for those looking for a bit more “distancing” and privacy. It’s also what is making the real unit market shoot through the roof! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!

The suite is located in the heart of Carolina Beach and walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, eateries, and local stores of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or event boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Come with the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island. You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier compete with bait, tackles, and more! The Carolina Beach Lake is close by, hosting a weekly Farmer’s Market every Saturday, FIREWORKS every Thursday, and outdoor summer movies on Sunday’s (on a generous inflatable screen in the middle of the lake!). We welcome you to sit back, relax and savor yourselves because that's exactly what the beach is for! * (due to Covid, please be prepared for periodic deviations from our usually scheduled events).

These suites are a mixture of the original “period” construction and old-world glamour, a kiss of shabby-chic modernity, and today’s technology because hey, there’s got to be something for everybody! Each suite has its own distinct traits, quirks, and characteristics. Above all else, it should feel like your “home away from home” while visiting with us on our Island!

The entry to this 0 bedroom/1 bath suite opens up into a huge, newly decorated family room combined with an open dining area and cookery station. Courtesy organic soap and shampoo are left in the bathroom of each suite as well as a (1) starter roll of TP, a (1) garbage bag, dish soap, and a sponge in each kitchen. *It is important to note that it is NOT an owner’s job to give personal family items for visitors. From toiletries and linens, to community food stuffs and condiments, It is ESPECIALLY important during this current climate for any used items of another to be discarded before our new visitors arrive to ensure an optimally hygienic space

There's ONE KING bed on site because we want all of our visitors to be peaceful when it comes time to recharge. Remember, linens are NOT supplied in order to keep our costs low. You can bring them from home with you, buy them locally, or rent them (refer to Low Tide Linens & Units). If renting, please let Low Tide know that you are a guest of SWRE as they will give you with an additional 10% discount!

There is a TV (with approx. 25 channels through the Charter Spectrum cable service or application) along with a WIFI computer connection for when it's time to sit back and appreciate some movies or shows after a long day at the beach! Come with a Fire Stick, Apple TV, Laptop w/ HDMI cable or other such casting device if looking to ensure all of the tech amenities from home are available during your stay!

We equip each suite with its own books, games, and misc. accessories to help cover the basis for our visitors to enjoy themselves in rain or shine. Sometimes however, these items are removed from the suite and not replaced and we do not realize it (tsk tsk!). If you notice something we’ve bragged about missing please let us know!

The outdoor shower is located on the lower left of the building to help get that sand off of those toes!

Guest access

The SUITE: Guests have full access to their own private SUITE (never shared) along with a respective outdoor space, patio, or balcony. Each suite can vary slightly in archetype but what’s private for each guest or is a common area for all to share IS effortlessly recognizable.

PARKING: Suites 1,2,3 and 4 will have access to (1) ONE ASSIGNED parking space in the front of the home. As the tons are self-enforced, it is within a visitors right to have any car towed that is parked in their assigned space so please park ONLY in your respective spot. Any additional community parking spaces would have availability on a first come fist serve basis. We do not recommend any lot or proprietor in particular.

Feel complimentary to reach out for any specific needs or clarifiers!

Neighborhood overview

Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island.

The building itself is one row away from the sea. The unit is set two blocks from down town Carolina Beach with its stores, activities and dining. There are fireworks during the summer every Thursday nighttime, Movies at the lake each Sunday nighttime, and local fairs around the lake each Saturday morning (refer to carolinabeach.org for additional info!). Carolina Beach is a mix of friendly locals, snowbirds, and visitors all looking to hideaway the inland and enjoy the sand, surf, and sun. We really have an magnificent community!

Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more calming and less “experience” is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!

Getting around

There isn’t anywhere or anything on our Island that isn’t accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has a number of vendors (such as Pleasure Island Units @ 2 N Lake Park Blvd Carolina Beach NC 28428 (golf carts) and Tony Silvagni’s Surf School @ 107 Charlotte ave Carolina Beach NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. Taxi’s (local golf cart taxi’s) and Uber’s are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island! You can catch a Ferry to Southport in Kure Beach @ 2422 Fort Fisher Blvd S Kure Beach which leads to another ferry to Bald Head Island where NO CARS are allowed at all!

After all, you won’t catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!

Other things to note

•Salt Water Real Estate has partnered with the absolute most superb vendors our Island has to offer to help ensure visitors can spend more time savoring themselves and less time researching! Our partners include the Tony Silvagni Surf School for professional surf lessons, bicycle, umbrella, and chair units, Salty Dog Yoga, Squared Away Cleaning and Maintenance, TNL Kleans, and Low Tide Linen Units who provides all visitors of SWRE an added 10% off. Our partners support visitors of Salt Water Real Estate with the highest caliber of local services for extremely competitive and oft discounted pricing. They all contribute to the “Salt Water” experience and we <3 them for it!

•ALL suites are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways. Please smoke well away from any SWRE unit unless willing to risk the potential loss of deposit or more.

• SWRE contractual peaceful hours begin at 9:00pm EST. Town ordinance may accept more latitude with regards to noise (11:00pm) but our expectations are to help ensure all visitors, locals, and neighbors alike have an enchanting experience.

•NO BBQing on ANY decks or porches. This is a giant fire hazard and is fineable by the town (as is removing batteries from any smoke or co2 alarms). We work extremely hard to keep all of our visitors safe, and sometimes that takes teamwork!

•Please always consider TRAVEL INSURANCE from your respective renting site or vendor to help protect your costs in case of inclement weather or last-min. travel complications (court, illness, etc.). These items are NOT returnable scenarios unless the unit itself is compromised. If that does happen, we will do our absolute premium to find you alternative housing.

Wallet-Friendly Tips

  • Many property management companies and vacation rental homes provide Southport area discount catalogs that feature money-saving coupons, either offered individually by vendors, or via a partnership between the management company and the itself. These guides can provide an excellent start to your rental search.
  • Prefer to avoid the crowds? Shoulder seasons special offer impressive opportunities.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the U.S. Military may be able to get discounted prices. Be sure to ask property owner to see if your visiting crew is eligible for a markdown.
  • Some rental properties are basically catered to specific visitors, whether it's downtown units with weekly fishing pier passes, city-center condos with close access to shopping or waterfront homes that feature their own kiteboarding launching areas. Make sure to prioritize your proximity to the family activities and points of interest you are most excited about.
  • Give thought to obtaining trip insurance along with your rental agreement. Trip insurance, which generally add between 1% - 5% of the base stay cost, provides guests reimbursement of their rental costs for any nights missed resulting from personal health emergencies or hurricanes, in addition to ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline.

How to Book a Vacation Home

You may be shocked to discover just how many rental properties are available at your destination. Rental homes are gaining in popularity among vacationers, and visitors will find that the sheer number of rentals available allows them to find an perfect retreat to suit their Southport gang, from quiet condominiums to grand event homes with several bedrooms.

The vast majority of vacation rentals in Southport are privately owned and many are represented by experienced local rental management agencies. Owners frequently choose management companies to manage advertising campaigns, house cleaning services and maintenance.

Below are some tips and techniques to help you understand the vacation rental search and reservation process.

Searching for and booking the right rental home:

Do you believe ""Beachside Suites" suite 3" is the best rental for your next vacation? Read this checklist to ensure it fits all of your preferences.

Begin Your Search Early

Southport rental properties start booking early. To find the best selection, start your planning and search 6-Twelve months before your vacation. Many families plan to start their search over Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Eve gatherings.

Settle on your Area and Travel Week

Agreement can be challenging between relatives, but once this tricky part is finished everything will begin to drop in place.

Choosing an Appropriately-Sized Rental

Keep a list of attendees. How many beds and bedrooms will you need? Try to remember that many rental homes advertise maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in the living room. You will need to figure out what is acceptable for your company. Specific descriptions of bedrooms and beds are usually available online. Otherwise, communicate with the property owner before you book.

Decide on Your Budget

Will the chosen rental home suit your budget during that choice Summer week? If multiple groups or relatives are sharing the cost, ensure each party knows their responsibilities and has approved a maximum they are prepared to pay. Most rental contracts call for a single person to be responsible for the whole reservation.

Create a list of "Wants" and "Needs"

What amenities is the group interested in? Is a screened-in deck a requirement? Would you like to be far from the crowds, or near civilization? Will the rental have bicycles and beach toys available for use as part of your stay? Gather a list of "needs and preferences" from your party to help narrow your search to the most suitable home.

Special Issues

Do a few members of your party have specific needs? If wheel chair accessibility, elevators, pool lifts or other special equipment is necessary, include that into your search. Almost all rental postings include a list of amenities.

Paws-Friendly, Please

Make sure you include your furry family members. Animal friends are welcome at a number of rentals, but guidelines differ. Type of pet, size and breeds can be limited. Examine your contract very carefully! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your contract. Ask questions *well before* you book!

Searching the Internet

Many websites exist to match clients with rental home owners.. Together with Homeaway, VRBO and Tripadvisor, we recommend searching Google for "Southport local rental properties" for local property management companies. Local companies usually have an exclusive selection of vacation homes daily and weekly.

Negotiate the Price

Re-read the description to be sure the property has everything required. If lacking, the rental home management company might know of similar homes that better fit your style and budget..

Some rental home owners will negotiate prices, and some won't. If the rate isn't negotiable, the number of nights might be. Off-peak season offers your best opportunity to negotiate a lower rate.

Read The Agreement

You really should know which services are included:

  • Power bills
  • Internet
  • Telephone service
  • Pool Heating
  • Pay Per View Movies
  • Cleaning services and housekeeping
  • Trash Pickup (and which day?)
  • Maintenance policies
  • Check in & Check Out Key Exchange
  • Parking Fees

Be sure that your quoted fee includes all taxes and fees.

If you want to Cancel

Be sure you understand the cancellation policy prior to booking. Many vacation property contracts include an option for trip insurance. Trip insurance, which ordinarily costs between 1% - 5% of your standard rental cost, can provide guests with reimbursement of their vacation costs (and subsequent rental home costs) for any nights missed due to personal health care emergencies or weather, in addition to hurricane evacuation expenses, such as a unexpected hotel stay or additional gas.

Reserve your Rental

Once you feel you've found "the one", start the reservation process. You will probably have to submit a security deposit at time of reservation.

Where to Get Help

Put the rental manager's contact information into your phone and wallet for convenient access to answers during your trip.

Congratulations! All that is left is enjoying your vacation!

During your Stay

  • Record the condition of the rental unit immediately upon arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to report your observations. If there is a difference of opinion about liability later, having the recorded problems and communication attempts could be helpful.
  • Ask questions. If there is any ambiguity about parking, policies of the house, property access, pool operation, etc... we suggest you ask the property manager promptly. A quick phone call helps prevent many head aches.
  • Please remember to respect your nearby neighbors. Often, adjacent households are lived in by permanent locals. Respecting late-night quiet hours and vehicle parking regulations can make a visit a good deal more relaxing.
  • Ask a local. Natives can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best pizza, have a great night out, or the best areas for shopping?
  • Enjoy your stay! Make sure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental secured when you are away, just like you would at home.

Leaving Paradise

  • Check to make sure you've packed everything. Examine drawers, bath cupboards and wardrobes.
  • Once everything is out, perform a walk-through of the rental to confirm no damage occurred during your remain. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (this may not be possible).. If the property manager is not available, you'll want to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have an enjoyable time? Just about all property management companies and rental websites allow customers to provide reviews. If the rental home and/or property manager was outstanding, they will likely appreciate your recommendations. If something went wrong and they didn't correct it in a acceptable manner, or when the rental home wasn't as described, you should make it a point in your critique.

Learn from your Stay

Does everybody want to return next year? Ideally everything turned out to be wonderful and you are all set to reserve the same rental home for next season. If not, you've acquired valuable experience that can help with your next search.

At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
