About this Property
Looking for an sea front get-a-way to savor those colored beach sunrises and salty evening winds? "Candlewood Sands" suite #1 may be just the home away from home you are looking for! The "Candlewood Sands" unit consists of two single family cottages (one in front of the other) with front row sights, sounds, and experiences. Each bungalow has its own sea view balconies or decks, along with a shared beach access to make our visitors time beach-combing and sun-seeking an Sea BREEZE!
Pleasure Island (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has become a RAPIDLY increasing holiday (and full-time!) destination for the East coast and beyond for many reasons. Because we are in fact a true island, our "max. capacity" and restricted parking options will always limit the number of visitors who can both rent on and visit our Island simultaneously! Although always relative, this provides a bit more elbow room and open space than average for those looking for more “distancing” and privacy than some bigger public beaches. It’s a family-aligned beach with a touch of everything one might be looking for! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!
The suite rests equidistant between both Carolina and Kure Beaches and everything that they have to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, eateries, and local stores of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or event boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Come with the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island. You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier compete with bait, tackles, and more! The Carolina Beach Lake is close by, hosting a weekly Farmer’s Market every Saturday, FIREWORKS every Thursday, and outdoor summer movies on Sunday’s (on a generous inflatable screen in the middle of the lake!). We welcome you to sit back, relax and appreciate yourselves because that's exactly what the beach is for! * (due to Covid, please be prepared for periodic deviations from our usually scheduled events).
"Candlewood Sands" beach bungalow suite 1, the two story building that sits just behind suite #2 walks you up one stilted flight and opens up to a lower floor consisting of two calming bedrooms, one with a Full and one with a Queen bed while sharing one full bathroom off the main hallway. A stairway off the main bungalow entrance brings you up another floor consisting of a full kitchen, dining area, living room, and a private balcony overlooking the Atlantic Sea. The kitchen is supplied will all of the basic preparing and dining silverware one should expect (plates, bowls, cups, silverware, etc.). In addition, there is a microwave, toaster, coffer maker and blender ready to help make yourself at home. Courtesy organic soap and shampoo are left in the bathroom of each suite as well as a (1) starter roll of TP, a (1) garbage bag, dish soap, and a sponge in each kitchen. *It is important to note that it is NOT an owner’s job to give personal family items for visitors. From toiletries and linens, to community food stuffs and condiments, It is ESPECIALLY important during this current climate for any used items of another to be discarded before our new visitors arrive to ensure an optimally hygienic space.
The living room includes a sizable double french door where you can watch the pelicans roost and waves crash without moving an inch. A intelligent TV and WIFI connection will ensure you stay briefly connected with the outdoor world before heading back to hunt for the ideal shell. Come with a Fire Stick, Apple TV, Laptop w/ HDMI cable or other such casting device if looking to ensure all of the tech amenities from home are available during your stay!
The unit's ONE QUEEN and ONE FULL bed consists of either a plush comfort bed or a new encased 8” memory foam/cooling gel composition bed because we want all of our visitors to be peaceful when it comes time to recharge. For stays less than 7 nights where linens are not included, you can bring them from home with you, buy them locally, or rent them (refer to Oceanside Linens & Units).
The outdoor shower is located at the rear of the unit to help get that sand off of those toes!
The SUITE: Guests have full access to their own private suite along with a outdoor space and lounge space that is separated from that of the other unit. The unit's private sea access is shared between both buildings on the unit.
PARKING: Each guest will have access to TWO (2) assigned off street parking spaces. Any additional community parking spaces would have availability on a first come fist serve basis. We do not recommend any lot or proprietor in particular.
Feel complimentary to reach out for any specific needs or clarifiers!
There isn’t anywhere or anything on our Island that isn’t accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has numerous vendors such as Tony Silvagni’s Surf School @ 308 S Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach, NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks, chairs, and umbrellas) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. There's Sun Fun Units @1204 N Lake Park Blvd Unit F Carolina Beach, NC 28428. You can catch a Ferry to Southport in Kure Beach @ 2422 Fort Fisher Blvd S Kure Beach which leads to another ferry to Bald Head Island where NO CARS are allowed at all!
After all, you won’t catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!
The building itself as aforementioned has its own private beach access that is shared between the two suites on the unit. "Candlewood" is a long walk or brief drive from downtown Carolina Beach with its stores, activities and dining and is equidistant to the smaller, but just as striking Downtown Kure Beach with its fishing pier and aquarium. There are fireworks during the summer every Thursday nighttime, Movies at the lake each Sunday nighttime, and local fairs around the lake each Saturday morning (refer to carolinabeach.org for additional info!).
Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more appealing and less “experience” is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!

Otherwise, contact the property owner before you book.
