Classic Wrightsville Beach bungalow located on Charlotte Street with fantastic access to the beach as well as Wrightsville's eateries and city center. Just two homes from the beach, the location affords ocean vistas from the broad wrap-around porch, while WB's top eateries, bars, and grocery store are just two blocks away The best thing about Charlotte Street is that, although it's extremely close and convenient to everything, it's also just far enough away to keep things peaceful at nighttime. Of course, it's also well-acclaimed to offer Wrightsville Beach's best surfing right out in front of the Station 24 access, just steps from the front porch.

The home was constructed in 1940 and retains virtually all of it's original classic, rustic appeal, yet offers centralized AC, refreshed appliances in the kitchen, and a full size washer/dryer in the downstairs laundry room. There are four (4) bedrooms which include a downstairs 'master' with a king-size bed, and three bedrooms upstairs that feature two (2) queen size beds and one room with two (2) twin size beds that can be pulled together to make a king. There is one (1) bathroom downstairs which serves the master bedroom as well as downstairs home guests and a 2nd bathroom upstairs to serve the upstairs three bedrooms.

Of course, our guests typically spend most of their time outside on the expansive wrap-around porch which features multiple seating areas including a daybed and hammock. The Denon stereo receiver is connected to two outdoor speakers on the porch if you like to savor a few tunes while chillin' with friends. There is also a grassy, landscaped area in the backyard that is great for calming as well. We have a gas grille stored underneath the home that can be used for cookouts, and there is also a enormous outdoor shower underneath to rinse off the kids when you come in from the beach. There is also plenty of parking on site, as well as access to street parking on Charlotte Street.

Now for a few intangibles about the home: Our family lives in the area and we rent the home less than we use it for ourselves. We adore it! Out friends appreciate it! That said, please understand that it is a 1940 beach bungalow that oozes with rustic period charm, and if you are looking for something newer with bigger bedrooms and bathrooms, you would be advised to look elsewhere. But if you are looking for the quintessential old-school Wrightsville Beach experience, you cannot find a more ideal spot!

Strategies to get the best rental home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Classic Wrightsville Beach Cottage in incredible location has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a certain Southport destination you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
