Tricks and tips to get the optimal Southport vacation property experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking your Southport vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Southport area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the best rental home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Daughtry: Beautiful oceanfront Condo with pool and tennis court has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your contract.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
