About this Property

LARGE DUPLEX IN PRIVATE GATED COMMUNITY: Each side has its own 'name'. The Eastside is named 'M & M' and the Westside is named 'Joy of Flying'. This is your opportunity to stay in a alluring 4 bedroom half of the duplex or 8 bedrooms when renting the entire home. The home has a huge open floor plan main living area with the kitchen, dining and living area all occupying the majority of the main floor. There are humongous windows along the sea side accepting outstanding vistas and tons of light. There is a huge interior doorway between the two sides making it ideal for family gatherings. Walk down the brief hallway and you are now in the open floor plan of the other side. However, if the children want to play games on one side, just close the doors and with all the interior soundproofing, they are now peaceful (as far as you know). Each side on the main floor has two guest suites each with their own enormous bath including a tub/shower. The second floor is designed as a 'family' suite with a giant master bedroom sharing a family bath with a room with two twin beds. Every room has multiple windows to accept the light to flow into the home.

With the need to protect the home from tidal storm surges, the home is constructed upon generous pilings which gives an unintended magnificent area for the children to play. A smooth concrete floor gives a tremendous amount of skateboard, cycling, and soccer room to play. Pull the cars back into the driveway and the children have room to play. Join them downstairs and relax in the two-person wooden swing. When it's time for the beach, there are tons of body boards, chairs, and beach toys located in the lockable storage area under the home that have been included over the years by renters for their appreciation and the appreciation of others. Take what you want out to the beach.

The exactly most gorgeous part of visiting here at Joy of Flying and M&M is the beach. A very brief walk across the street and either left or right a couple home down will give you two choices for beach locations. Our home is the one with two options for beach access so close. The beach on the West End is always peaceful and there is plenty of room for your family. If your idea of a beach is hoping you can find room for your towels, think again. Holden Beach West is sparsely populated, so even in the peak of summer you still have plenty of room to play Frisbee, or throw the football. We've had many soccer and lacrosse games on the beach over the years.

A number of our renters come with numerous families and appreciate the complete living, dining, and kitchen of both sides. Each voluminous side of the duplex has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. Two rooms on each side have private baths. Each side sleeps 8. The interior walls have been insulated to keep the sounds to a minimum which helps get a good nighttime's sleep or an afternoon nap. There is room for the children to play under the home with swings on each side and tons of room for younger children to ride big wheels, etc. The home is well-maintained and you might even feel that you are staying in a brand new home. We have renters who have been with us for fifteen years and they keep coming back because it feels like home.

One of the monstrous benefits of renting our holiday home is we accept the right of first refusal for the following year to the current year rental family. Once you rent with us, you always have right of first refusal on that week for the following year at the end of your week of leisure at Holden Beach. This accepts you the ability to have your own personal time-share without the costs.

One of the few homes on Holden Beach that give linens with the rental. Instead of requiring families to either bring their own linens or rent linens from commercial agencies like most other homes; we have decided to give our own linens for our visitors. Now when you show up to holiday, the beds will be made, there will be towels in the bathrooms and you can get right to visiting. We hope that with time, our new policy will be adopted everywhere on the beach. Relish.

Unfortunately, due to multiple occurrences of damage to our home or yard, we no longer accept weddings or receptions to be held in our home. This policy may change in the future as we have had a number of modest superb weddings held at our home in the past. You may contact us with your proposal and ideas, but we are most likely to decline the opportunity.

Recently upgraded kitchen remodel showcase fresh granite countertops and decorative backsplash. We also upgraded the WiFi range and bandwidth for better streaming. The rear grass is very coming in this spring thanks to the added sprinkler system last fall and we now invite your children to adore our sizable grassy area for soccer, lacrosse or Frisbee.
Recent additions include 52 Inch massive HD TVs. Additional updates include kitchen gadgets, wall hangings/decor, and new roof.
