Money-saving Tips

  • Many rental managers and vacation houses provide Southport area travel discount books that feature promotions, either offered independently by merchants, or via a relationship between the property manager and the merchant itself. Keep an eye out for these books and promotional books, since this allows visitors to enjoy the same terrific activities with a generally significantly discounted.
  • Are the travel dates changeable? Off-season rates are usually a fraction of maximum fees.
  • Many rental companies and owners offer rate reductions for active and veteran members of the Armed forces, or repeat travelers of the same property. Be sure to ask property manager to see if your travelling group is eligible for a discounted rate.
  • Is there a particular experience you are most getting excited about during your stay? You will definitely get the best value from a home which most closely suits your ideal holiday setting, even if it costs a bit extra.
  • Management companies and individual rental home owners typically offer their customers an opportunity to buy trip insurance coverage. Trip insurance, which usually add somewhere between 1% - 5% of the basic rental rate, provides travellers reimbursement of their vacation expenses for any nights missed as a consequence of personal health-related emergencies or storms, in addition to ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or expenses, like an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas.

How to Book a Rental Home

You may be surprised to find out just how many properties are available at your destination. Rental accommodations have gained in popularity with the rise of worldwide research sites like Homeaway and VRBO.

Nearly all vacation rentals in Southport are privately operated and many are represented by experienced local rental management companies. Property management companies are well-liked by rental owners mainly because they manage the internet marketing and operations..

Seasoned Southport vacationers have identified several tips and tricks over the years with regards to renting rentals, however many beginners will be delighted to know that many of these "techniques" are in plain sight, if you understand how to look.

How to find and book the right rental property:

Do you think "Second-Row Duplex w/Free WiFi, Private Washer/Dryer, Covered Porch, Central A/C" is the perfect rental for your next trip? Look over this check list to make sure it fits your preferences.

Begin Your Search Early

Southport rental homes book many months (and up to a year) in advance. To assure the very best selection of properties, we recommend searching and booking your Southport rental home Six-Twelve months before your travel dates, whenever possible. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years are excellent times to plan and book your rental..

Select your Town and Travel Week

Agreement can be tough between relatives, but once this tricky part is complete everything will begin to drop in place.

Select a Size

How many relatives are joining your getaway? Be aware that many properties advertise maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in the home's living room. It is important to determine what is suitable for the family. Specific descriptions of bedrooms and beds are typically available online. If not, speak to the property owner before you book.

Decide on Your Budget

Does your preferred rental suit your budget during that choice Summer week? If many groups or families are sharing the cost, confirm that each group knows their responsibilities and has agreed to a maximum they are willing to chip in. Typically, just one member of the group will be liable for making the whole reservation and getting each family member's contribution.

Property Amenities

What property features is the family interested in? Are you looking for a vacation property with open-air dining area? Does the unit need to be beachfront, downtown, or close to restaurants? Are items like beach chairs, gas grills, umbrellas, buggies or coolers available and included in your rental rate? Build a list of priority amenities to facilitate filter your search.

Special Factors to consider

Do individual people in your party have specific needs? Make certain to remember and ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs..

Go ahead and Take the Dog

Make sure you include your furry family members. Even though quite a few rentals allow animal friends, rules and costs fluctuate per property. A number of constraints may possibly eliminate a potential rental property. Make sure to study descriptions and contracts carefully. Extra fees or deposits may be applied to your contract. When in doubt, ask the property owner and get it in writing.

It Is Time to Search

. Together with Homeaway, VRBO and Tripadvisor, we suggest searching Google for "Southport local rental properties" for local rental management companies. In addition to having exclusive properties, local companies provide you with outstanding service..

Negotiate

Re-read the description to ensure that the rental has everything that you need. If lacking, the home management company may know of comparable homes that suit your style and budget..

Some rental owners will negotiate rates, and some won't. If the price isn't negotiable, the number of nights may be. Your best prospects for a reduced rate is changing to a less desirable week.

Read through the Entire Contract

Read through the entire agreement and be certain you are aware who is responsible for:

  • Electric bills
  • Internet
  • Telephone service
  • Hot Tub Heating
  • Pay Per View Movies
  • Housekeeping
  • Trash collection
  • Maintenance policies
  • Key exchange
  • Parking requirements

Ensure that your quoted fee includes all taxes and fees.

Cancelling your Rental

Cancellation policies are different with each vacation rental. Vacation rental management companies and home owners typically offer their guests the option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance safeguards the renter against emergency situations and weather events, It provides reassurance should tragedy strike.

Complete the Booking

When everything looks correct, it's finally time for you to sign on the dotted line. You will likely be asked to submit a security deposit at time of booking.

Keep Your Property Manager's Info

Be sure to get the property manager's contact telephone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We suggest saving the contact's details in your phone and wallet.

Good luck on reserving your vacation home! You're on the way to a terrific vacation!

During your Stay

  • Photograph at your arrival. To make certain no damages are associated with your visit, create a record of any problem areas of the rental. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to report your observations. This will prevent disagreements during checkout.
  • You may need guidance for a gas fireplace, TV or jacuzzi. Contact your rental manager. They are there to assist. A phone call can save several hours of difficulty.
  • Don't forget to respect your nearby neighbors. Permanent residents often times live within earshot. Respecting late-night quiet hours and vehicle parking restrictions can make a vacation substantially more relaxing.
  • Ask a local. Natives are a great source of advice.
  • Enjoy your stay! Don't forget to protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the property locked up when you are away, just like you would in your own home.

At the end of your stay

  • Double-check each room of the rental to make certain you've collected all belongings.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental home one last time and check for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible (often this isn't possible).. If the property manager is not available, make sure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great time? Just about all property management companies and rental home sites permit customers to provide feedback. If your rental home and/or property manager was excellent, they will appreciate your praise. If something was wrong and they didn't fix it in a acceptable manner, or if the rental was not as described, you should make it a point as part of your feedback.

Learn from your Experience

Does everyone want to re-book next year? Maybe everything turned out to be fantastic and you're ready to re-book the same property for your next vacation. If the rental property was not ideal, and you'll better understand how to filter your search for the next trip.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
