Southport rental property booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Southport area. Book your Southport vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

How to choose and book the perfectvacation home:

  • Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. \"Shore Thing\" Great Private Pool Area!!, Tiki Bar, Elevator, Pool Table, Crow's Nest! has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available online. Otherwise, call the property manager before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
