How to get the best Holden Beach rental experience:

Get the best value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Southport area. Reserve your Southport rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing and booking the bestrental:

  • Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Tortuga - Fantastic Canal Home with Floating Dock! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
  • If there's a certain Southport attraction you long to visit, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
