Our top Southport rental property booking tips:

Money saving strategies:

  • In the Southport area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Southport area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting and booking the perfectrental home:

  • Choose a group leader, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 2022 Thurs - Thurs. Summer rentals! Skip the long lines and late ferries has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is suitable for your group.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
