Strategies for getting the best Southport rental home experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Book your Southport vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • In the Southport area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Southport area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing and booking the best Southport rental:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. \"A Seacret Hideout\" 2nd row 6 bedroom 4.5 bathrooms has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
