Tips to get the best Southport vacation home experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Southport area. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Luxury studio suite in Sea Trail. Close to beach. Wonderful screen in porch. has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your trip.
  • If there's a particular Southport attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
