If you’re here to make the most of fishing in Southport, look no further than Cape Fear Shark Co. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Robert is prepared to put you on fish.
Depending on conditions, you might hook into Cobia, Blacktip Shark, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Grunt, Bonnethead Shark, Bull Shark, Tiger Shark, Black Seabass, Redfish, Hammerhead Shark, Spanish Mackerel, Lemon Shark, and who knows what else! You can expect to do some light tackle fishing, trolling, drifting, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Trips with Cape Fear Shark Co. are kid-friendly, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Snacks are also a good idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly!
Your fishing machine for the day is a 26’ MayCraft pilothouse that can carry up to 6 passengers. It has downriggers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. What’s more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, along with lures.
There’s no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain. Don’t leave home without bottled water, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
