Getting the best vacation home experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Southport area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. “Dreams Come Blue” in this beautiful, six-bedroom oceanfront home with a private heatable pool. has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or could be applied to your agreement.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. text the host immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
