Looking to catch some fish on Oak Island? That’s what Take Up The Slack Guide Service is here for! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Kirk is prepared to put you on fish.
These waters are known for Flounder, Redfish, Speckled Trout, Black Drum, and more – with any luck, they’ll make your reel scream. You’ll target your catch by light tackle fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Kirk also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
You’ll find yourself aboard an 18’ Long Bay flats boat with room for 2 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more. Don’t forget to bring bottled water, sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
