Pleasure Island has become a RAPIDLY increasing holiday destination for the entirety of the East coast and beyond for many reasons. Because we are in fact a true island, “overcrowding” isn’t in of itself a giant issue. Limited parking and available housing will always create a peaceful “max capacity” that will always give a comfortable (and healthy) occupancy level and mood that, despite the “hordes”, will always leave generous complimentary space for those looking for a bit more “distancing” and privacy. It’s also what is making the real unit market shoot through the roof! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!
The suite is located in the heart of Carolina Beach and walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, eateries, and local stores of all kinds. Come with the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island. You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier compete with bait, tackles, and more! The Carolina Beach Lake is close by, hosting a weekly Farmer’s Market every Saturday, FIREWORKS every Thursday, and outdoor summer movies on Sunday’s. We welcome you to sit back, relax and savor yourselves because that's exactly what the beach is for! * (due to Covid, please be prepared for periodic deviations from our usually scheduled events).
These suites are a mixture of the original “period” construction and old-world grace, a kiss of shabby-chic modernity, and today’s technology because hey, there’s got to be something for everybody! Each suite has its own distinct traits, quirks, and characteristics. Above all else, it should feel like your “home away from home” while visiting with us on our Island!

Money Saving Strategies
- Find the official tourism bureau where you want to travel. Most established tourism bureaus supply promotional guides with special deals for property management companies, dining and activities. These guides provide a good start to your rental home search.
- Are the trip dates flexible? Off-peak times offer up sizable markdowns.
- Several management companies and owners offer price reductions for active and veteran men and women of the Armed forces, or returning guests of the same rental home. Make sure to check with property manager to see if your vacationing crew is eligible for a discounted rate.
- Is there a particular experience you are mainly longing for during your stay? You should prioritize your proximity to the family activities and landmarks you are most excited about.
- Consider obtaining trip insurance along with your rental contract. Trip insurance, which generally add between 1% - 5% of the base stay cost, provides vacationers reimbursement of their trip costs for any missed due to personal medical related emergencies or weather, in addition to ensuing extra hurricane evacuation costs or expenses, like an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforseen happens (heaven forbid!).
The Rental Process
Some people are shocked to discover the number of vacation homes are offered in their area of interest. With such a big selection, clients are certain to come across a rental home that suits their desires and price range.
Rental homes are usually owner operated or managed by property management companies. For owners not directly engaged in the management of their vacation home, management companies are critical in helping families with booking, checking-in, housekeeping services, and any maintenance issues that may occur.
Below are some tips and methods to help you navigate the vacation home search and booking process.
Finding and booking the perfect rental home:
Do you believe ""Sand Dollar Suites" suite 3" is the perfect vacation property for your upcoming visit? Read this guide to ensure it fits your preferences.
The Earlier, The Better
Southport vacation rentals book months (and up to a year) in advance. For the greatest selection, begin your planning and search Six-Twelve months before your vacation. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years are excellent times to find and reserve your vacation home..
Settle on your Town and Vacation Week
Oftentimes, the toughest part of organizing your trip is choosing where to search, and when. Once the big decisions are resolved, everything else will be simplier and easier.
Choosing an Appropriately-Sized Vacation rental
Determine who is joining, and just how many/what type of bedroom configuration you will need. Keep in mind that many rental homes list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in the living area. You'll need to determine what is suitable for the party. Specific descriptions of bedrooms and beds are typically available on the internet. If not, communicate with the property owner before you book.
Exactly What Are You Willing to Pay?
Will your selected rental fit your budget during that prime Summer week? If multiple individuals or families are sharing the cost, check that everybody understands their obligations and has approved a maximum they are prepared to chip in. Usually, a single member of the group will be in charge of making the complete reservation and getting each person's contribution.
What amenities is the family searching for? Do you want a rental home with patio lounge? Are you more enthusiastic about wildlife or night life? Are items like beach chairs, gas grills, beach umbrellas, beach carts or coolers available and included in your rental home payment? Gather a list of prioritized "needs and preferences" from your company to help narrow your search to the most appropriate home.
Accessibility and Special Issues
Elderly family members will thank you for not renting a stairs-access-only property on the 3rd floor. Ensure that you remember and ask about wheelchair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs..
Your Dog Needs a Holiday, Too
Make sure to include your furrry friends. Even though a number of rentals allow dogs, guidelines and fees vary per property. Many restrictions could dismiss a potential rental property. Read your agreement thoroughly! Fees may apply when animals are included. If in doubt, ask the property manager and get it in writing.
Start your Search
. In addition to Homeaway, VRBO and Tripadvisor, we recommend searching Google for "Southport local vacation rentals" for local vacation rental management companies. Local property management companies pride themselves on a top-quality vacation experience.
Re-read the description to ensure the rental has everything you need. If lacking, the home management company might know of very similar homes that suit your wishes and budget..
Some property owners will negotiate prices, and some won't. If the rate isn't negotiable, the number of nights might be. The off-season offers your best opportunity to make a deal for a reduced rate.
Study the Contract
Read the entire contract and be sure you understand who is liable for:
- Phone service
- Pool Heating
- Pay Per View Movies
- Trash Pickup (and which day?)
- Maintenance (get a phone number)
- Key exchange
- Parking Space
Be sure that your price includes all taxes and fees.
What is the Cancellation Policy?
Ensure that you understand the cancellation policy prior to reserving. You'll likely be offered trip insurance. Trip insurance guards the renter against emergency situations and weather events, It gives you peace of mind should tragedy strike.
Complete the Booking
When everything seems correct, it's finally time for you to sign on the dotted line. Bear in mind that most rental agreements will require a considerable rental deposit and/or security deposit to safeguard the property owner.
Where to Get Help
Make sure to get the manager's contact telephone number and entry/exit procedures for your vacation property. We suggest storing the contact's details in your smart phone and wallet.
Congratulations! All that is left is making the most of your vacation!
During your Stay
- Record the overall condition of the rental property right away. We also advise promptly phoning the property manager with a report of any damages, together with your request for any required fixes. This will protect against disagreements during checkout.
- You might need guidance for a gas fireplace, Television or jacuzzi. Get in touch with your home manager. They are there to help. A quick phone call avoids many head aches.
- Be considerate of the neighborhood. Residents will probably be as friendly to you as you are respectful of them. Remember the golden rule and treat others the same way you'd like to be treated by visitors next to your home.
- Ask a local. Residents are a great source of advice. Who better to ask where to get the best chicken wings, have a great date night, or the best areas for shopping?
- Make sure that you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the property secured when you are away, just like you would in your own home.
- Double-check every space of the rental home to ensure that you've gathered all valuables.
- Once everything is out, begin a walk-through of the property to make sure that no property damage occurred during your remain. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible (often this isn't possible).. If the property manager is not available, make sure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- How was your vacation? Virtually all vacation rental sites seek reviews after your stay is complete. Rental owners and rental managers will thank you for favorable critiques. If anything went wrong, we suggest being understanding but straightforward with regards to stay. Top property owners and managers will work very hard to fix the issue.
Use Your Experience
Did they feel about the rental? If everything was fantastic, next year's vacation planning is going to be relatively easy. Maybe the rental home was not perfect, and you will better understand how to perfect your search for the next vacation.
