Java Dog

As the name would suggest, Java Dog is one of Downtown Wilmington’s few establishments where dogs aren’t only welcome, they’re expected. This cool coffee shop that’s located on the edge of Front Street and is just steps away from local attractions like the Wilmington Riverwalk is a fun hang-out for humans and canines alike, and features plenty of strong brews to accompany its warm dog-friendly atmosphere.

The interior of Java Dog is artful and inviting, with two levels of sitting area and a central main counter for ordering. The brick-lined walls are painted with pop images, and a handful of outdoor seating allows patrons to step outside after ordering and enjoy the sun. The menu features a regular host of traditional coffee house drinks, as well as ever-changing specials which are always worth a look, and which can include sweet favorites like Butterscotch Toffee, Mocha Java, and Snickerdoodle, in addition to fruit smoothies and frappes. There’s also a collection of baked goodies, like muffins, bagels, and strudel, that can add easily cure a snack-sized appetite. With a friendly staff, lots of variety, and a chic atmosphere that’s literally for the dogs, Java Dog is a cool option for canines and their human companions to enjoy the heart of Downtown Wilmington.
