Golfers can treat themselves to a fun day away from the beach and on the scenic greens with a visit to Holden Beach’s own Lockwood Folly Country Club. Voted the "Best Golf Course in Brunswick County" for 2012, 2013, and 2015 by the local paper, the Brunswick Beacon, the course has incredible tree-lined fairways, abundant wildlife, quiet ponds, and miles-wide views of the adjacent Intracoastal Waterway.
The course is located just inland of the Holden Beach shoreline, which makes it an easy destination for Supply locals, as well as coastal beach-goers. The 18-hole and par 72 course was designed by the acclaimed Willard Byrd and measures 6,836 yards from the tips, with a rating of 73.9 and a slope of 140. The course is also spread out on the edge of the Lockwoods Folly River and the adjoining Intracoastal Waterway, and as a result, golfers will enjoy plenty of peace, quiet and seclusion, as well as stunning vistas in veritably every direction. With golf packages available for multiple days of play, and plenty of relaxing greens that are teeming with wildlife, the Lockwood Folly Country Club will be a favorite Holden Beach destination for golfers who truly want to get away from it all.
