Visitors who are cruising through Hampstead and who want to satisfy a seafood craving, ( a perfectly understandable desire considering that Hampstead is known as North Carolina’s seafood capital), can make a quick stop at the east-to miss but equally easy-to-enjoy Rb’s Roll “n” Seafood and Grill. Located in a makeshift trailer along Highway 17, this popular local spot featured “Born and Breaded in North Carolina” eats that are easy to enjoy on the go, or in the comfort of a Cape Fear area beach house.
Originally based out of Holden Beach, this literal seafood shack has a small but eye-catching menu for seafood fans that revolves around classic coastal North Carolina fare. Patrons who veer off the highway to take a look will find a nice range of options, which includes shrimp, fish, crab and softshell crab burgers, and shrimp, fish, scallop, crab, and combo “boxes,” which are deep fried and served with a nice helping of cole slaw and fries. With easy-going prices and nothing but seafood on the menu, (with the exception of ice cold soft drinks), visitors can enjoy a fast food-style taste of the Cape Fear coastline while travelling along the slightly inland but nevertheless acclaimed seafood-loving community of Hampstead.
