Surf House

The Surf House is a chic brunch, lunch and dinner restaurant that takes full creative license with the traditional flavors of southern and coastal cuisine. Located across the Intracoastal Waterway from the Carolina Beach shoreline, this subtly located restaurant might be easy to pass by, but shouldn’t be missed for its eclectic collection of farm to table and wholly delicious fare.

Each menu has its highlights, starting with the Sunday Brunch menu that has a nice focus on farm egg sandwiches, buttermilk waffles, skillet potato creations, traditional breakfast plates, and more midday fare, like burgers, tacos, and Paninis. Lunchtime visitors will find a fun collection of starters, small plates, and sandwiches, which includes a classic cheeseburger with grass-fed beef, as well as a more global and unique bahn mi with choice of fish, pork, or shrimp. Meanwhile, dinnertime guests will find a wealth of starters and snacks, oysters, and “Farm, River and Sea” dishes to choose from, including the ever-changing daily catch of the day, local shrimp and grits, and North Carolina staples like pecan encrusted catfish or duck thigh with cabbage, mushrooms and sweet potatoes. Always distinctive and wonderfully fresh, the Surf House proves just how delicious the popular farm to table movement can be.
