About this Property

  • Sleeps 6
  • 3 Bedrooms
  • 3 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home
  • Approximately 1600 square feet

This property is ideal for families with modest kids doing longer-stays (over a week).

Traveling with modest kids can be a challenge! We know because we have modest kids of our own. We are excited to offer our home as a refuge for your family as you travel. Our home is equipped with nearly everything you need as a parent. Crib, playground, washer and dryer, noise machine, infant bathtub, toys, kids’s books, blankies, rockers, highchair, etc.

Of course, if you don’t have kids, you can ignore those things and stay in a 3 bed, 2.5 bath open-concept home with a private backyard / comfortable patio , espresso machine and plenty of space for a family. The home is very pet and toddler friendly (though adult supervision is required). We are walking distance from a few great eateries and stores and Long Leaf Park. We are just a 10-min. drive to Wrightsville Beach or downtown.

Master bedroom has office space with dual monitors, bassinet, garden tub in private bath and a sizable dresser. The guest room has queen bed with enormous dresser and closet. The other bedroom is equipped for modest kids (crib, rocker, changing station, a kids twin bed, toys, etc.). We also have two queen sized air beds that can be set-up in one of the two downstairs living rooms.

We have everything you need in terms of cooking, linens, towels, soap, entertainment (wifi, Netflix, hbo, etc.). A T.V. in each shared living room, 2 couches and 2 appreciate seats and a special cushion for 1 pet.

The outdoor patio has a cushioned couch, dining table, gas and charcoal grilles, playground and privacy fence. In the summer, it's full shade after 1pm which is amazing. We pay for mosquito control so *far fewer* pesky mosquitos while you're trying to savor an evening outdoors.

Our favorite activities in the neighborhood include:
- Walking our dog through our peaceful neighborhood over to the dog park in long leaf park. Stopping in at Brewer’s Kettle for a cold drink and then picking up Tandoori Bites Indian food on our walk home.
- Biking over to Whole Foods or Crepes & More for morning coffee and breakfast.
- Playing on the soccer field located within the neighborhood
- Staying in, grilling out or appreciating the outdoor fire place, on a warm evening after the kids are in bed.

Tips and Tricks for getting the best vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Southport area. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First, have your family agree to a vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Centrally located family home 10 mins from the beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Additional considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
