Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Carolina Beach vacation home experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Southport area. To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area visitors guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing the perfectrental home:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Classic 1930s Beach cottage in heart of Carolina Beach has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Southport destination you love, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
