Tricks and tips to get the optimal rental experience:

Getting the best value:

  • To get the largest rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select your vacation dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. NEW!! Freshly renovated, Family Beach, Canal Front has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or applied to your invoice.

Know before you go:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
