Tips for getting the best Wrightsville Beach vacation home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Wrightsville Beach. To get the most suitable rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area travel guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the perfect rental:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Sandpiper Cottage - Oceanfront home with gourmet kitchen, Jacuzzi and more has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's a particular Southport beach you long to visit, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Call the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
