Getting the best Southport vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Southport rental home:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Wilmington. To book the largest rental within your budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Southport area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose and book a perfectrental:

  • Select dates and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Historic cottage in Spofford Mills with big fenced yard - pets welcome! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a specific Southport beach you long to visit, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
