Wilmington Water Tours

Welcome to Wilmington Water Tours and the “Wilmington” tour boat on the Cape Fear River. Experience the River on their 49 passenger motorized catamaran with a full bar and restroom. Doug Springer, his wife Diane Upton and their partners have been offering river cruises for 17 years.

The “Wilmington” cruises the river with daily lightly narrated 50 minute cruises, relaxing sunset cruises with live, local music or a morning birding cruise or Civil War history cruise.

A cruise on the river is an excellent way to introduce visiting family and friends to the Cape Fear River and historic Downtown Wilmington. On any given cruise you will learn some history and see nature all around such as alligators, Osprey, Bald Eagles and Striped Bass. Even bottlenose dolphins have been sighted.

Their latest offering in conjunction with the Burgwin-Wright Museum is “Burgwin-Wright Presents…Outlander in the Cape Fear”. If you are a fan, come learn about the connections.

Captain Doug says, “At the end of the day it is about the experience we provide our guests. We want to teach you, but we also want to entertain you and engage with your questions and interest. Our narrations are not scripted; each captain focuses on what excites them, so each time you come aboard, it changes. Our product runs deeper than our boats. Our product is you and what you take away from the experience.”
