Tips for getting the perfect Southport vacation rental experience:

When to book a Southport rental home & When to go:

  • Book your rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • In the Southport area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning, selecting, and booking a perfectrental home:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 354 Sun Tee by Sunset Vacations has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
