A Shore Thing is a 1st level condo with a view and an elevator!!! Oceanfront, 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 1st level condo in the elevator building at the sought-after Sea Colony community. Private, assigned parking for 2 cars! The master suite includes a queen bed, walk in closet, flat screen tv and private bath. Bedroom #2 homes two twin beds and is adjacent to the hall bathroom. The living area is on the oceanfront side of the condo and accepts the sun to pour in through the triple slider! The ocean vistas are gorgeous!

The kitchen is completely equipped for your stay at the beach. The dining room seats 6 and we have outside seating on the oceanfront balcony! The living room has a queen sleeper couch and a flat screen tv. Wi-Fi is included in your condo. The community features numerous charcoal grilles for your use with one conveniently located in the grassy lawn area outside of your building. The swimming pool is steps away and is its own private getaway. The beach access for owners and guests only and makes for a more private beach strand experience.

Located in Carolina Beach, this condo is on the beach. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Carolina Beach and popular attractions include Carolina Beach Boardwalk and North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. Odysea Surf and Kiteboard School and Tregembo Animal Park are also worth visiting.

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in Carolina Beach. Book your Southport vacation in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations and attractions.

Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is best for your family.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a particular Southport destination you simply love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

During your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.

  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
