  • Private vacation home

Leave your car parked for the the whole vacation! Want an simple walk to the beach? Want to be steps away from a great grocery store? Want walkability to stores? Would you like to be able to walk to a restaurant and bar? This home has it all! Freshly refreshed and ready to help make lasting memories. 75 yards to direct beach access next to Publix grocery and beach stores. Walkability score 10! Shady back yard with a picnic table ideal for grilling. My wife and I bought this gorgeous ranch style home with the thoughts of what and where we wanted our retirement place to be. We were inspired by the towns we visited in Northern Europe, where the citizens could walk to work, shop, and play. We didn't expect to find a place that we could have all that and still be steps away from the gorgeous and uncrowded beaches that North Carolina offers, but we did. My wife and I welcome you into our home. From the centuries year old oak trees that offer shade from the summer sun in the back of our home, you can plan your next adventure while grilling out with our new gas grille. Play a game of corn hole, or just relax. Forget that special brand of coffee that would make it a ideal morning? No worries, head over to Publix and grab whatever you need. Don't worry about finding parking to get to the beach. Multiple great eateries are an painless walk as well. You might just lose that brother-in-law for a few hours when he finds that sports bar a couple blocks away.

A possible day itinerary could be as follows. Wake up in the morning and walk over to scoops ice cream and donuts and pick up a dozen made to order gourmet donuts (eat one there before you go, the fresher, the better). grab a cup of coffee and walk over to the beach to see what the surf looks like. If there's some waves you and your family might want to go body boarding (body boards included). around noon come on back to the home grille up some hamburgers. after lunch head back to the beach to soak up some sun or maybe go to one of the many stores close by. For supper you can either have supper there at the home or go out to eat to one of the many great eateries in the area. Don't forget to go to one of the many ice cream stores for evening dessert! My wife and I are here on the island to help you with anything that you might need.

Our top Oak Island rental home booking tips:

When to visit & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.

Narrow your Search:

  • Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Beach house close to the ocean direct beach access has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
