About this Property
"Sand Dollar Suites" suite 2 is managed by Dale and Salt Water Real Estate and may be just the home away from home you are looking for! "Sand Dollar Suites" suite 2 is a one-bedroom comfortable condo that's just steps from our sandy shores, a brief walk to downtown CB, and all the sea sights, sounds, and experiences you are looking for!
Pleasure Island has become a RAPIDLY increasing holiday destination for the entirety of the East coast and beyond for many reasons. Because we are in fact a true island, “overcrowding” isn’t in of itself a monstrous issue. Limited parking and available housing will always create a inviting “max capacity” that will always give a calming (and healthy) occupancy level and vibe that, despite the “hordes”, will always leave copious complimentary space for those looking for a bit more “distancing” and privacy. It’s also what is making the real unit market shoot through the roof! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!
The suite is located in the heart of Carolina Beach and walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, eateries, and local stores of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or event boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Come with the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island. You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier compete with bait, tackles, and more! The Carolina Beach Lake is close by, hosting a weekly Farmer’s Market every Saturday, FIREWORKS every Thursday, and outdoor summer movies on Sunday’s. We welcome you to sit back, relax and savor yourselves because that's exactly what the beach is for! * (due to Covid, please be prepared for periodic deviations from our usually scheduled events).
These suites are a mixture of the original “period” construction and old-world appeal, a kiss of shabby-chic modernity, and today’s technology because hey, there’s got to be something for everybody! Each suite has its own distinct traits, quirks, and characteristics. Above all else, it should feel like your “home away from home” while visiting with us on our Island!
The entry to this 1 bedroom/1 bath suite opens up into a enormous, newly decorated family room combined with an open dining area and completely supplied kitchen (stove+oven, refrigerator). The kitchen is supplied will all of the basic preparing and dining silverware one can expect (plates, bowls, cups, silverware, etc.). In addition, there is a microwave, toaster, coffer maker and blender ready to help make yourself at home. Courtesy organic soap and shampoo are left in the bathroom of each suite as well as a (1) starter roll of TP, a (1) garbage bag, dish soap, and a sponge in each kitchen. *It is important to note that it is NOT an owner’s job to give personal family items for visitors. From toiletries and linens, to community food stuffs and condiments, It is ESPECIALLY important during this current climate for any used items of another to be discarded before our new visitors arrive to ensure an optimally hygienic space
There's ONE QUEEN/ONE FULL bed here that consists of a new encased 8” memory foam/cooling gel composition bed because we want all of our visitors to be appealing when it comes time to recharge. The pullout couches that can fit/support a memory foam pad are also accommodated with such! (Always bear in mind that a pullout couch/futon for a longer term tenant may/may not give just right support!) Remember, linens are NOT supplied in order to keep our costs low. You can bring them from home with you, buy them locally, or rent them (refer to Low Tide Linens & Units). If renting, please let Low Tide know that you are a guest of SWRE as they will give you with an additional 10% discount!

Come with a Fire Stick, Apple TV, Laptop w/ HDMI cable or other such casting device if looking to ensure all of the tech amenities from home are available during your stay!
We equip each suite with its own books, games, and misc. accessories to help cover the basis for our visitors to enjoy themselves in rain or shine. Sometimes however, these items are removed from the suite and not replaced and we do not realize it (tsk tsk!). If you notice something we’ve bragged about missing please let us know!
The SUITE: Guests have full access to their own private SUITE (never shared) along with a respective outdoor space, patio, or balcony.
PARKING: Suites 1,2 and 3 will have access to (1) ONE parking space in the front of the home. Oversized cars may have a difficult time (lengthwise) parking without being very close to or slightly extending into the street. Any additional community parking spaces would have availability on a first come fist serve basis. We do not recommend any lot or proprietor in particular.

Do you think ""Sand Dollar Suites" suite 2" is the perfect rental home for your next trip? Browse through this guide to confirm it fits your preferences.
Search Early and Frequently
Southport rental properties start booking early. For the greatest selection, start your planning and search Six-Twelve months before your trip. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental home..
Settle on your Town and Travel Week
Start by figuring out which specific area of Southport you want to browse, and the choose travel dates.
Select a Size
Take a head count. How many beds and bedrooms will you need? Remember that many rentals list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in the living area. You'll need to determine what is acceptable for your family. Specific descriptions of bedrooms and beds are typically available online. Otherwise, speak to the property owner before you book.
What Exactly Are You Prepared to Pay?
Will the preferred rental fit your budget during that choice Summer week? Make sure you get cost-sharing commitments from friends and family prior to booking a costly rental home. Most rental documents require a single individual to be liable for the whole reservation.
Let's Discuss Amenities
What property features is the group looking for? Do you simply desire a property with a swimming pool, jacuzzi or volleyball court? Are you more interested in a natural landscape or nightlife? Are items like beach chairs, barbecue grills, beach umbrellas, carts or coolers available and included with your rental property charge? Make a list of priority amenities to help narrow your search.
Do individual members of your crew have special needs? If wheel chair accessibility, elevators, pool lifts or other specialized devices are needed, include that into your search. Nearly all rental home listings include a list of amenities.
Are you or other individuals in the group visiting with a domestic pet? Animal friends are welcome at many rentals, but policies differ. Be sure you read descriptions and contracts carefully. Extra charges may apply when animals are included. If in doubt, ask the property manager and get it in writing.
Best places to Search
. Together with Homeaway, VRBO and Tripadvisor, we recommend searching Google for "Southport local rentals" for local rental management companies. Local rental home management companies take pride in a top-quality rental experience.
Negotiate the Price
Re-read the description to ensure the vacation home has everything you need. If lacking, the rental home management company may know of very similar homes that fit your style and budget..
While not true for all rental homes, many property owners and property managers will negotiate rates. If they are unwilling to budge on a peak-season stay, try asking for an additional night. Off-peak weeks should be negotiable more often than peak-season..
Study the Total Contract
Learn which of the following is included in your quoted rate:
- Telephone service
- Pool Heating
- Cable and pay-per-view TV
- Cleaning services and housekeeping
- Trash Pickup (and which day?)
- Maintenance policies
- Check in & Check Out Key Exchange

During your Stay
- Take pictures at your arrival. Take notes of any property damage right after you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to report your observations. This will prevent disputes during check out.
- Ask questions. When there is any ambiguity about vehicle parking, policies of the property, property access, swimming pool operation, etc... we suggest you ask the rental home manager immediately. A quick phone call eliminates many headaches.
- Please be respectful of the local community. Residents frequently live within earshot. Respecting late-night quiet hours and vehicle parking rules can make a trip a little more enjoyable.
- Ask a local. Natives may point you in the right direction.
- Make sure that you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the property secured while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every space of the rental home to make sure that you've packed all valuables.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one last time and look for damages. We advise walking through with the rental manager whenever you can (this isn't always the case).. If the property owner is not available, you'll want to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- How do you feel about your choice? Just about all rental management companies and vacation rental websites permit travellers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was top-notch, they will appreciate your recommendations. If something went wrong, we suggest being pleasant but genuine with regards to your experience. Top property owners and managers will try hard to fix the issue.
Hold a debrief with your travel companions. Did everyone have a blast? With a little luck everything was exceptional and you are all set to re-book the property for next season. If the rental home was not ideal, and you will better know how to improve your search next time.
