Sunset Beach vacation rental booking tips:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • In the Southport area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Southport visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Golden Villa-Sea Trail-Golf View, Dining & Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Southport beach you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
