How to find the best Bald Head Island vacation rental experience:

Find your best deal:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Book your Southport vacation in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking a perfect Southport rental:

  • First, have your group agree to trip dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Incredible views of the 6th fairway, Bald Head Island Club Golf Course. has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
