About this Property

This enormous oceanfront home is located on splendid and unspoiled Holden Beach in southern North Carolina. On the sea side of the unit there is a private heated 12 ftX25ft pool.
Loggerhead Landing is a 5 bedroom, 4.5 bath shorefront home with a roomy, completely supplied kitchen/dining area for family meals. The home accommodates 10 visitors and is not rented to events bigger than 10. There is a spectacular living area adjacent to the kitchen-with both the kitchen and the living room including expansive sea vistas. The three upstairs bedrooms appreciate the same sea vista and each opens out onto the upper covered porch. The upstairs bedrooms include a huge master bedroom with a king bed and an adjoining bathroom, and two other bedrooms with queen beds one of which has an adjoining bathroom. In addition to the 3 bedrooms and 2 baths on the second floor, there is also a enormous upstairs living area with a TV and a table for playing cards or doing puzzles. There is also a laundry room with a washer and dryer on the second floor. Both huge downstairs bedrooms have adjoining full baths. One of the bedrooms has a queen bed, the other bedroom has 2 twin beds. They are both sizable and airy and have a view of the salt marsh across the road.
The home has two sizable covered porches on the sea side. The porches are sprinkled with calming rocking chairs to relax in. The photos show the wide angle view of the beach and oceanscape from the porches. The home faces due south so that the porches give shade during the heat of the day. There is a sizable sun exposed porch on the sea side of the home that is ideal for sunbathing while basking in the sea wind with a unobstructed sea view.
The beach is steps from the home so there is no tiring walk for young children before they get to savor the fine sand and the sea waves. The beach itself is typically very uncrowded as the home is located on a narrow section of the island, and there is only one home behind it on the second row. The beach itself is wide, with plenty of room even at high tide.
The heated pool was added in 2017 and is located on the sea side of the home. The pool itself is generous, with an generous outdoor space that offers shade and sun. The pool will be a hit with the children during the day, and with the adults as the sun goes down.
This home was previously rented as Loggerhead Landing by the current owner and a work partner who was newly bought out. The current owner has been renting the home on Vacation Rental By Owner since 2014.
We have named the unit Loggerhead Landing in honor of one of the types of sea turtles that nest every year on Holden Beach. Perhaps you will see a nest with freshly laid eggs one morning when you are walking along the miles long strand at Holden Beach. The pier is about one and a half miles east of the home.
The home has plenty of electronics with a flat screen TV in each bedroom as well two others in the upstairs and downstairs living areas. There are two DVDs, cable TV, and WiFi.
There is a charcoal grille at the home. Cleaning and pool heating in season is included in the rental price. Sheets and towels are not supplied. The home is on pilings and is not wheelchair accessible. Although the home is listed as pet complimentary, our family trains service dogs and the home may have dog dander. It would not be appropriate for families that have a member with dog sensitivity. The home rents Saturday-Saturday with check in time 4 PM and check out time of 10 AM.

How to Save Money on Your Rental

  • Many property owners and vacation rental houses provide Southport area travel discount books which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by merchants, or utilizing a relationship between the property manager and the local business itself. These guides can provide a good start to your rental search.
  • Desire to stay away from the crowds of people? Off-peak times provide sizable savings.
  • A number of property management companies and owners offer special discounts for active duty and veteran men and women of the US Military, or returning individuals to the same property. Be sure to confirm with property manager to see if your travelling group is eligible for a discounted rate.
  • Some vacation rentals are basically catered to specific customers, whether it is beachfront units with fishing pier passes, city-center homes with nearby access to shopping or waterfront homes that feature their own kiteboarding launching areas. You should prioritize your proximity to the family activities and points of interest you are most looking forward to.
  • Rental companies and individual property owners typically offer their clients an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base vacation rental rate, provides vacationers reimbursement of their rental expenses for any days missed as a consequence of personal medical related emergencies or weather, and additionally ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, like an unanticipated motel stay or extra gas.

How to Book a Vacation Home

Some people are shocked to learn just how many rentals can be found in Southport. Rental homes are gaining in popularity among vacationers, and visitors will find that the sheer number of vacation homes available makes it possible to find an ideal retreat to suit their Southport family, from restful condominiums to larger event homes with several bedrooms.

Rentals are commonly owner operated or managed by property management companies. Property owners frequently select management companies to assist with marketing and advertising, house cleaning and routine maintenance.

We have put together a brief guide to help you get the most from your rental home experience.

Searching for and booking the right vacation property:

Before you start to book "Loggerhead Landing--Beautiful oceanfront home with large private heated pool", examine our brief list of issues to consider.

Begin Your Search Early

Southport vacation rentals start booking early. To get the best selection, start your planning and search Six-12 months in advance of your vacation. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental home..

Find your Area and Establish Dates

Start by choosing which specific area of Southport you'd like to visit, and the determine trip dates.

Exactly How Much Rental home Do You Need?

How many relatives are joining your trip? Try to remember that a lot of vacation rentals list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in the living room space. You will need to determine what is acceptable for your company. Specific descriptions of bedrooms and beds are usually available on the internet. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you book.

Decide on Your Budget

The majority of vacation rentals are presented with a price range. Confirm the price for your selected stay. It might be at the top end of the range. If a few individuals or family members are sharing the cost, check to make sure everyone knows their responsibilities and has agreed to a maximum they are willing to contribute. One member of your family will need to be in charge of collecting contributions and agreeing to responsibility for the entire rental payment at time of reservation.

Create a list of "Wishes" and "Necessities"

What home features is the family trying to find? Is a swimming pool reallynecessary?Do you want a rental with patio lounge? Are you more enthusiastic about a natural landscape or night life? Are items like beach chairs, gas grills, beach umbrellas, buggies or coolers at your disposal and included in your rental property rate? Gather a list of prioritized "needs and preferences" from your party to help filter your search to the most appropriate property.

Special Circumstances

Suitable access could make or ruin a visit for the less-mobile. If wheel chair access, elevators, pool lifts or other special devices are needed, include that into your search. The majority of rental listings include a list of amenities.

Take the Dog

Are you or other individuals in the group visiting with a pet dog? While quite a few vacation rentals permit animal friends, rules and charges vary per rental. A number of constraints could dismiss a prospective rental home. Examine your contract thoroughly! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your agreement. Ask questions *prior to* you reserve!

Its Time to Search

A number of websites exist to match renters with property owners.. In combination with Homeaway, VRBO and Tripadvisor, we recommend searching Google for "Southport local vacation rentals" for local vacation rental management companies. Local rental home management companies take pride in a first-class rental experience.

Negotiate

Re-read the description to be certain the home has everything required. If something is missing, the vacation rental management company may know of very similar properties that better suit your desires and budget..

While not true for all rental homes, many rental owners and property managers will make a deal on rates. If they are hesitant to budge on a highly-desirable trip, try getting an additional night. This is most effective throughout the off-season when many homes sit vacant.

Read Through The Agreement

Read through the complete contract and make sure you understand who is liable for:

  • Electric bills
  • Internet
  • Phone service
  • Pool and hot tub heating
  • Pay Per View Movies
  • Cleaning Fees
  • Trash collection
  • Maintenance (get a phone number)
  • Check in & Check Out Key Exchange
  • Parking requirements

Get a total that includes taxes, pet and other additional fees.

What is the Cancellation Policy?

Cancellation policies are different with each rental. You'll probably be offered trip insurance. Trip insurance guards the renter against emergencies and weather events, It gives comfort should tragedy strike.

Reserve your Vacation Property

When everything looks correct, it's finally time to sign on the dotted line. Remember that most rental agreements will require a substantial rental down payment and/or security deposit to safeguard the vacation home owner.

Know Who to Call

Be sure you get the manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend keeping the contact's details in your smartphone and wallet.

Good luck on booking your rental home! You're on the way to a fabulous vacation!

During your Stay

  • Take pictures at your arrival. Take notes of any damage when you arrive. We also advise immediately calling the rental manager with a report of any problems, together with your request for any critical repairs.
  • Ask questions. If you have any ambiguity about vehicle parking, policies of the house, condo access, swimming pool operations, etc... we suggest you ask the rental home manager immediately. A brief phone call avoids many hassles.
  • Remember to respect your nearby neighbors. . Respecting late-night quiet hours and vehicle parking restrictions can make a visit considerably more pleasant.
  • Ask a local. Natives are a fantastic source of recommendations. Who better to ask where to get the best chicken wings, have a great date night, or the best places for night life?
  • Make sure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the property secured while you are away, just like you would at home.

At the end of your stay

  • Make sure you've packed everything. Inspect drawers, bath cabinetry and cabinets.
  • Once everything is out, do a walk-through of the property to make sure that no property damage occurred in the course of your stay. If it is possible, do this walk-out inspection with the property manager present. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • How was your getaway? Most vacation rental management companies and vacation rental websites make it easy for travellers to offer feedback. If your vacation rental and/or property manager was top-notch, they will appreciate your positive reviews. If something went wrong and they didn't correct it in a practical manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you should note that as part of your critique.

Iterate

Hold a vacation recap meeting with your travel companions. Does everyone want to return next year? If everything was fantastic, next year's trip planning will be relatively easy. If not, you have gained useful rental search experience that can help with the next search.
