Strategies to get the perfect Sunset Beach rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Southport area. To book the largest rental for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.

How to choose and book the rightrental:

  • Start by selecting vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Lovely 3BR condo with pool, 6 min from the beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
