Getting the best Carolina Beach vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the largest rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Southport attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Southport area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Southport area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking the best Southport vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. 1014 The Sea Is Calling by Atlantic Towers has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
