The Space:
BookSmart Properties presents: Cub's Cottage! This Oak Island home is only half a mile from the beach and is ideally detailed from the outside in. The interior is entirely updated with modern appliances, decor, and furnishings. Step in the door of Cub's Cottage and you are greeted with a comfortable living room where your family will adore curling up with a good book, or watching a movie in the evenings.

The open concept flows seamlessly from the living room to the dining & kitchen area. The dining table seats 7, with 2 additional barstools behind it. Light streams in from the porch doors, through which you will find an outdoor dining table to appreciate al fresco meals on the deck! The kitchen is shining with modern appliances, and the chef in your family has plenty of space and equipment to prep delicious food throughout your stay.

The master king suite is located just off the kitchen & features a private full bath, equipped with a delightful shower and double vanities! The queen room and bunk room are found off the living room and share a full hall bath.

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Southport area. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses.   • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
