Rental property booking tips:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Southport area. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Southport restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain coupons for local shops and restaurants.

Choosing and booking a perfectrental:

  • First and foremost, have your group decide on vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanfront escape! Spectacular ocean views, 2 pools, tennis & elevator! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
