Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Southport rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Book your Southport vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • In the Southport area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies supply Southport area visitor guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the perfect rental in the Southport area:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. The Beacon Summary:
    J
has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs applied to your contract.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. text the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
