The Neighborhood:
Arranged for a sizable family or two smaller families, should you require more rooms, let us know! The Bluemoon Cottage can be paired up with its sister-property The Sundance Cottage.

Other Things to Note:
1. NO EVENTS or exceeding the guest limit
2. Quiet hours from 10PM-8AM per the TOWB
3. As a professional property management firm, we do require a signed rental agreement per the NCREC.
4. Inclement weather will not be grounds for any refund if within the cancellation period.
5. Please notify our office if you’re planning to bring a pet as the following pet policy will apply: A max. of 2 family pets are allowed. ONLY DOGS ARE ACCEPTED. The pet fee is $200 per pet plus tax.
6. Dogs are NOT allowed on the beach from April 1st-September 30th (Wrightsville Beach rule- not ours!)

**All service animals & emotional support animals must be disclosed at the time of booking. A pet fee will NOT be charged for true Service Animals.

Located on the beach, this vacation home is in Shell Island, a neighborhood in Wrightsville Beach. Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect vacation property experience:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in Wrightsville Beach. To find the largest rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. The Blue Moon Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a particular Southport beach you love, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking

Considerations for your stay:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
