About this Property

'Unforgettable' beach bungalow is a elegantly decorated and refreshed 4 bedroom 2 bath home. We are located on the beautiful west end of the island only four homes back from ocean front! You can see the beach access from our bungalow. It is shown in one of our photos taken from our bungalow. It is not so busy here on the west end. We are not near the busy pier area where all the people come from town to park and go to the beach. We have just finished our new high rise deck with magnificent vistas of the ocean, sunset and sunrise. We have also added a gate with a lock on it for safety. We have one of the few cottages that has a paved driveway which is great for the kids feet! We have a huge area under bungalow to relax in the chairs or for kids to run around. Our bungalow has high end furnishings, designer linens and quality beds to make sure you wake up feeling great after a good nighttime sleep. The kitchen is entirely outfitted so that you can prepare fast snacks for the beach or a gourmet meal. There are ceiling fans throughout to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Each bedroom has its own TV and DVR and there is also a TV and DVR in the den area. If you prefer to be outside, you can appreciate a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise on our screened front porch, complete with rocking chairs and picnic table, or have a cold drink and watch the sunset off the back deck.

Outside we have a enormous shower and changing area, two picnic tables, paved driveway, a fenced back yard and gas grille.

This beach rental accepts you to check in Sunday and depart Sunday. We think this really helps with all the traffic on the highway and it is not so crowed at the grocery stores. It also gives you a day to pack if you work. We hope this will work for you.

Sunset Beach is located on the southernmost barrier island on the North Carolina coastline. It is a relaxing three mile long island with wide powdery white sand beaches that is unspoiled by commercial development. Sunset Beach is widely viewed as one of the cleanest, family aligned beaches on the east coast. Its white sandy beaches are a great place to sunbathe, walk, ride a bicycle, jog or just sit and relax while watching the boats and the dolphins come and go. Bird Island is also located on the west end of the island. Bird Island is a pristine, undeveloped 1300 acre state preserve that is home to loggerhead turtles and the Purple Sandpiper found only on Bird Island. This end of the beach is very roomy, peaceful and peaceful and provides definitely gorgeous unobstructed vistas of the ocean, marsh and the impressive sunsets for which Sunset is known.

Sunset is centrally located providing painless access to Calabash, 'The Seafood Capital of the World', just two miles away, where you can feast on the local seafood, buy fresh shrimp off of one of the shrimp boats or charter a boat and catch your own dinner. North Myrtle Beach is just 15 miles away, Myrtle Beach 25 miles away and historic Wilmington is roughly 45 miles away. You can catch a world class show in one of the many theaters in Myrtle Beach or you can tour a battleship in Wilmington. For the shopper there are countless opportunities including Barefoot Landing, Broadway at the Beach and two Tanger Outlet centers. If golfing is your thing the area is also considered the 'Golf Capital of the World'. Sea Trail, The Thistle, Lions Paw, Tigers Eye, Panthers Run, Crow Creek, Oyster Bay, The Pearl and Sandpiper are just some of the courses within 15 mins. of Sunset Beach.

About the Area

Sunset Beach is home to this cottage. While the natural beauty of Ocean Isle Beach and Holden Beach can be enjoyed by anyone, those looking for an activity can check out Cherry Grove Pier.

Rental property booking tips:

When to book a Southport rental home & When to go:

  • In the Southport area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Summer months are high season in Sunset Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Southport vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, picking, and booking yourvacation home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 'Unforgettable'! LOCATION! 4th FROM OCEANFRONT, OCEAN, SUNSET & SUNRISE VIEWS! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what bed configuration is best for your group.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
