Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Southport rental home experience:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • In the Southport area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Southport area. To get the best value, change your family's Southport vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Southport area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain discounts for local tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose your vacation dates and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Beautiful, relaxing accommodations has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If not, reach out to the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
