The Palmetto Place opened in 2021 as a luxury escape for couples and modest families who savor the natural wonder of Bald Head Island. Our cedar shakes are located in Cape Fear Station and a fast golf cart ride to the public beach access, nature trails, crabbing holes, and the stores at Maritime Market. When you want to getaway from the sun and salt air, our comfortable home will welcome you with modern amenities, quality linens, and refreshed decor so you can exhale from reality and completely rejuvenate. The only worry you'll have is which bottle of red to bring.

  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses.
