Tips for getting the perfect vacation property experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • In the Southport area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies supply Southport area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
