Tips to get the very best rental home experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • In the Southport area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose the best rental:

  • Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. 5 Minute Scenic Walk to the Beach! Your Vacay Awaits!! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Southport beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
