How to book the best Southport vacation home experience:

Get the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Bald Head Island. Booking your Southport vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, management companies supply Southport area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • Choose your vacation week and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Charming two-bedroom cottage near East Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the host's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
