Carolina Beach vacation rental tips:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Southport area. To get the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Southport visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose and book yourvacation home:

  • Start by having your family agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Gorgeous 3 story beach home with stunning ocean views! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. message the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
