How to find the best vacation property experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Summertime is high season in the Southport area. To get the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area visitor guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking your prefect Southport vacation home:

  • Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Gorgeous renovated home ~ Private beach access & private ICW boardwalk\/pier! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is right for your family.
  • If there's a specific Southport attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
