Tips to Save Money on your Rental

  • Find the tourism bureau where you want to travel. Many tourism bureaus offer guides with deals for lodging, dining and attractions. These guides provide an excellent start to your vacation rental search.
  • Are your vacation dates changeable? Shoulder seasons offer amazing prices.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the U.S. Military may be qualified for discount rates. Make sure to check with property owner to see if your visiting group qualifies for a reduced price.
  • Some vacation rentals are practically designed to serve particular clients, whether it's oceanside homes with weekly pier passes, city-center condos with nearby access to shopping or waterfront homes that have private jetski launching areas. You'll receive the best value from a rental which most closely satisfies your ideal trip setting, even if it costs a little more.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers the option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you somewhere between 1% - 5% of the basic stay price, offers vacationers reimbursement of their rental expenses for any days missed a result of health related emergencies or weather, in addition to ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or expenses, such as an unexpected hotel room stay or extra gasoline. Trip insurance might just be a bank account-saver if the unforseen happens .

How to Book a Rental Home

Many people are shocked to discover the number of rental properties can be found in Southport. With such a big selection, renters are certain to locate a property that fits their wishes and budget.

The majority of rentals in Southport are privately owned and many are represented by well-known local rental management companies. Property management companies are liked by rental owners mainly because they coordinate the online marketing and operations..

Seasoned Southport vacationers have discovered a number of tips and tricks throughout the years when it comes to renting rental homes, however most novices will be happy to learn that many of these "techniques" are in plain sight, if you recognize where they should look.

How to find and reserve the right rental property:

Before you start to book "A Villa Roja: 5 Bed / 3.5 Bath Oceanfront Home", read through our short list of considerations.

Start Your Search Early

Southport rentals start booking very early. To find the best selection, begin your planning and search Six-Twelve months before a trip. Holiday reunions can be a popular time for groups to plan their Summer holiday escapes..

Select a Community and Date

Begin by deciding which specific area of Southport you want to explore, and the choose travel dates.

Decide on a Size

Keep a list of attendees. How many beds and bedrooms will you need? Try to remember that a lot of vacation rentals advertise maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in the family room. You'll need to determine what is acceptable for your family. Generally rental home listings will describe each one of the unit's specific bedrooms and mattress sizes.

Determine Your Budget

Many rentals are marketed with a cost range. Determine the cost for your selected stay. It could be at the high end of the range. Make sure to get cost-sharing commitments from friends and family prior to reserving a pricey vacation property. Usually, one person in the group will be liable for making the complete reservation and getting each family member's contribution.

Create a list of "Wishes" and "Needs"

What home features is the family trying to find? Is a pool mandatory? Are you looking for a rental home with patio kitchen? Would you like to be far from the crowds, or close to a city setting? Are linens included with the rental agreement, or do you need to bring your own? Create a list of priority amenities to guide narrow your search.

Accessibility and Special Things to consider

Do certain members of your crew have specific needs? Make sure you remember and ask about wheelchair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment requirements..

Paws-Friendly, Please

Don't forget to include your best friend! Pet guidelines are different at each rental. Study descriptions thoroughly. Read your contract very carefully! Additional fees or deposits may be applied to your contract. Ask questions *well before* you reserve!

Searching the Internet

As soon as the location, travel dates and family members are decided, search multiple resources to find the best rental selection. Besides Homeaway, VRBO and Tripadvisor, we recommend searching Google for "Southport local rental homes" for local rental home management companies. Besides offering exclusive properties, local agencies provide exceptional service..

Negotiate

Re-read the description to make sure the property has everything required. If something is missing, the home management company may know of similar properties that fit your style and budget..

Although not true for all rental properties, many property owners and property managers will make a deal on rates. If they are hesitant to budge on a peak-season week, try getting an extra night. Off-peak weeks are likely to be negotiable more often than peak-season..

Read the Agreement

Read through the full agreement and be sure you are aware who is liable for:

  • Utility bills
  • Internet
  • Telephone service
  • Hot Tub Heating
  • Cable and pay-per-view TV
  • Cleaning services and housekeeping
  • Trash collection
  • Maintenance (get a phone number)
  • Key exchange
  • Parking requirements

Ensure that your quoted fee includes all state taxes and fees.

Cancellation Policies

Cancellation policies are different with each property. You'll likely be offered trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base rental home price, provides travellers with reimbursement of their vacation costs (and subsequent rental home costs) for any days missed due to personal hospital emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation expenses, such as a unanticipated motel stay or additional gas.

Complete the Booking

Once you feel you've identified "the one", begin the booking process. Bear in mind that most rental agreements will require a substantial rental down payment and/or security deposit to protect the home owner.

Where to Get Help

Don't forget to get the property manager's contact telephone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We suggest storing the contact's details in your cell phone and wallet.

Congratulations on booking your vacation rental! You're on the way to a fantastic vacation!

During your Stay

  • To assure no damages are linked to your stay, make a record of any trouble spots of the property. We also recommend promptly phoning the rental home manager with a report of any damages, together with your request for any fixes.
  • If you have any ambiguity about parking, policies of the house, property access, pool functions, etc... we suggest you ask the rental home manager promptly. A quick phone call prevents many headaches.
  • Please remember to respect your neighbors. Residents probably live within earshot. Remember the golden rule and treat others the same way you'd like to be treated by visitors next to your primary residence.
  • Ask a local. Locals may point you in the right direction.
  • Be sure to protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would in your own home.

At the end of your stay

  • Make sure that you've packed everything. Check drawers, bath cupboards and cabinets.
  • Make a point to walk through the rental home one last time and look for property damage. We suggest walking through with the rental manager wherever possible (this isn't always the case).. If the property owner is not available, make certain to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a blast? Most property management companies and rental home sites permit travellers to offer comments. If the rental home and/or property manager was top-notch, they'll appreciate your praise. If anything went wrong, we recommend being understanding but sincere about your stay. Top property owners and managers will try very hard to rectify the problem.

Use Your Experience

How did they like the vacation rental? If everything was fantastic, next year's trip planning will be quick. Maybe the rental property was not ideal, and you will better understand how to perfect your search next time.

Victory Beach Vacations

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
