About this Property

Welcome to your next great family holiday! We think you will adore staying at our home and relishing all of the fun in the sun that Pleasure Island has to offer. Here's why.

1. It's hard to beat the location.

Our home sits across the street from the bay and just one brief block from the beach. We timed our walks with two young children: 2 mins. and 45 seconds from our driveway to the sand! You'll walk about the same distance to launch your kayak or paddle board at the public access point on the bay. Great eateries like Britts Donuts and all the fun of the Carolina Beach Boardwalk are only 0.7 miles away.

2. The vistas are unreal.

Savor a morning cup of coffee or evening sunset as you watch the boats sail past from one of our massive decks that overlook the water. Head out to the comfortable outdoor space facing the sea and listen to the waves, or hideaway to the crow's nest above the top floor and take in a full view of the sea and Carolina Beach.

3. You'll have no trouble parking.

When you drive up, you'll find 100 feet of private parking in the carport and driveway—enough for 5-6 cars depending on what you drive. The carport also has plenty of space for storing any beach chairs and toys you bring from home. And unlike most units in the area, we have a backyard that's ideal for games and inviting.

4. You'll have access to a private elevator.

Our unit occupies the top 2 floors of a 3-story building, and the building itself is lifted. Walk up two flights of stairs or ride the private elevator from the carport to get to the main entrance on the 2nd floor or the 3rd floor living space.

5. There is a room for everybody...

Our home has 5 bedrooms (11 beds) and 5 full bathrooms.

Main floor:
BR1 has a king bed, sleeper couch, enclosed full bathroom, and it opens onto the outdoor space
BR2 has a queen bed and enclosed full bathroom

Top level:
BR3 faces the bay and opens up onto a 32x8 outdoor space. This room is set up like a second living room and has more than 400sq ft of living space. Two couches in front of the fireplace open into beds. Across the room, you'll find a bunk bed (double bottom, single top) and a single bed near the entrance to the enclosed full bathroom. The room comfortably sleeps 10—a ideal spot for children.
BR4 has a king bed and an enclosed full bathroom with hallway access
BR5 has a queen bed and a sleeper couch

6. ...and everybody will have a seat at the table.

On the main level you'll find an open floor plan kitchen and living room that opens onto another 32x8 outdoor space. The indoor dining table seats 10, and there is additional seating for 6 at the bar, 4 at the game table in the living room, and 14 on the outdoor space. No one will have trouble finding a seat! The kitchen has everything you need to make simple meals and enough serving dishes, glassware, and silverware for 18.

7. Our home is family friendly.

If you have children, you'll find that our home offers a few family-friendly perks that most other places do not. In addition to a closet full of toys and games that your children can savor—and an Xbox hooked up to the TV in the upstairs bedroom/living room—we have multiple things that mom and dad will value:
* Pack-and-play (sheet not included)
* Infant monitor
* White noise machine
* Retractable gates attached to the top and bottom of the stairs
* Convertible booster seat (6 months to 4 years)

8. We have tons of luxuries to make your stay fun and calming, including starter amounts of dishwasher pods, dishwashing soap, whole bean coffee, creamer, sugar packets, and 2-in-1 body wash+shampoo.

But it's important to note that bath towels and bed linens are NOT supplied. If you want to save some money and bring what you need from home, be our guest. You are welcome to use the washer and dryer on the main floor (just remember to bring detergent). We have pillows for 18 (all with protective covers) and comforters.

If you'd rather have new towels, linens, and bathmats waiting for you when you arrive, we can connect you with our local partner Oceanside Linens. They make it smooth to customize your towel/linen rental order online and pay directly.

Alternatively, we can take care of everything for you if you add Oceanside's Premier Linen package to your reservation. This $299 rental package includes bath towels for 18, 5 bath mats, and new linens for all 11 beds (they do not make up the sleeper couches or top bunk but the package includes everything you need).

How to Save Money on Your Rental

  • Many management companies and vacation rental homes provide Southport area traveller discount magazines that feature offers, either offered independently by merchants, or via a partnership between the property management company and the local merchant itself. Search for these books and discount books, as this allows visitors to experience the same terrific activities with a typically considerable discounted.
  • Are you willing to alter your travel dates? Off-peak times offer substantive savings.
  • Are you a armed forces veteran? Quite a few management companies offer special discounts to veterans and active-duty servicemembers. Be sure to check with property manager to see if your visiting crew is eligible for a discount.
  • Is there a certain experience that you are most looking forward to during your stay? You'll receive the most value from a rental which most thoroughly matches your ideal trip setting, regardless if it costs a bit extra.
  • Consider obtaining trip insurance along with your rental agreement. Trip insurance, which usually add anywhere between 1% - 5% of the basic vacation rental cost, provides guests reimbursement of their rental expenses for any days missed as a consequence of personal health-related emergencies or weather, in addition to ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or expenses, such as an unplanned hotel stay or extra fuel.

General Rental Information

Many people are shocked to discover how many properties are located in Southport. Rental homes are gaining in popularity among vacationers, and visitors will find that the sheer number of rental properties available makes it possible to find an optimum getaway to suit their Southport family, from tranquil condominiums to gigantic event homes with several bedrooms.

Virtually all rental properties in Southport are privately owned and many are represented by established local rental management companies. Property management companies leverage scale, equipment and practical knowledge to provide trouble-free operational administration on behalf of the owner..

Seasoned Southport vacationers have discovered a few tips and tricks over the years with regards to renting rental properties, however many newcomers will be happy to realize that several "tips" are in plain sight, if you recognize how to search.

How to find and reserve the perfect vacation home:

Do you think "3600sqft, 5ba/5br, 11 bed, elevator, <600ft to beach, overlooks bay" is the best vacation property for your next vacation? Browse through this checklist to ensure it fits your needs.

The Earlier, The Better

Southport vacation homes book months (and up to a year) in advance. To get the best selection, start your planning and search Six-12 months prior to a trip. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years are excellent times to find and reserve your rental..

Select a Town and Time

Start by deciding which particular area of Southport you would like to visit, and the choose dates you'll be vacationing.

Choosing an Properly-Sized Rental

Take a head count. How many beds and bedrooms will you need? Bear in mind that a lot of homes advertise maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in the living room space. It is important to determine what is most appropriate for the company. Precise descriptions of bedrooms and beds are commonly accessible on the internet. If not, communicate with the property manager before you book.

What Exactly Are You Prepared to Spend?

Many rental properties are advertised with a cost range. Determine the price for your desired trip. It might be at the high end of the range. If multiple groups or loved ones are sharing the cost, always make sure each person understands their obligation and has agreed to a maximum they are willing to pay. A single individual in your party will have to be in charge of collecting repayments and agreeing to responsibility for the complete rental cost at time of reservation.

Let's Discuss Amenities

What amenities is your group looking for? Is a screened porch a necessity? Would you like to be far from the crowds, or close to civilization? Are extras like beach chairs, barbecue grills, umbrellas, carts or coolers at your disposal and included in your rental property payment? Gather a list of "needs and wants" from your company to help narrow your search to the most suitable property.

Accessability

Do a few members of your crew have specialized needs? If wheel chair entry, elevators, pool lifts or other special devices are necessary, include that into your search. Most property listings will include a list of amenities.

Think About 4-Legged Family Members?

Are you or other members of the family traveling with a family pet? Pets are welcome at a number of rental properties, but policies differ. Study your agreement very carefully! Charges may apply when pets are added.

It Is Time to Search

Several websites exist to match vacationers with rental home owners.. Together with Homeaway, VRBO and Tripadvisor, we suggest searching Google for "Southport local vacation rentals" for local property management companies. Local agencies usually have a unique collection of rental properties daily and weekly.

Negotiate

Re-read the description to make certain that the rental has everything required. If something is missing, the rental management company may know of very similar homes that better suit your wishes and budget..

Some rental owners will negotiate rates, and some will not. If the rate isn't negotiable, the number of nights might be. The off-season offers your greatest chance to make a deal for a lower rate.

Study the Contract

Find out which of the following is included in your quoted rate:

  • Electric bills
  • Internet
  • Phone service
  • Hot Tub Heating
  • Pay Per View Movies
  • Daily Cleaning (If Available)
  • Trash collection
  • Maintenance (get a phone number)
  • Key exchange
  • Parking Fees

Be sure that your quoted fee includes all taxes and fees.

Cancelling your Rental property

Cancellation policies vary for each vacation rental. You'll probably be offered trip insurance. Trip insurance guards the renter against emergencies and weather events, It gives you relief should catastrophe strike.

Complete the Reservation

When everything looks right, it's finally time for you to sign on the dotted line. You'll likely be required to submit a security deposit at time of booking.

Get Contact Information

Be sure to get the manager's contact phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We suggest keeping the contact's details in your smart phone and wallet.

Good job on booking your rental! You're on your way to a fabulous vacation!

During your Stay

  • Photograph on your arrival. Record the condition of the rental property right away. Contact the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a difference of opinion about liability later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will probably be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You might need instructions for a gas fireplace, TV or hot tub. Get in touch with your home manager. They are there to help. A phone call can save hours of hassle.
  • Remember to respect your nearby neighbors. Residents more often than not live within earshot. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a vacation considerably more enjoyable.
  • Ask a local. Local people can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best pizza, have a great night out, or the best spots for wildlife?
  • Make sure that you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the vacation rental secured when you are away, just like you would at home.

When its Time to Leave

  • Check to make sure you've packed all of your possessions. Sweep all the rooms in the home for forgotten items. Inspect bath rooms, the garage, kitchen cupboards, patios, the swimming pool area, and anywhere else your personal property might "hide".
  • Once everything is out, perform a walk-through of the property to make certain no damage occurred during your remain. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever feasible (this isn't always the case).. If the property manager is not available, make sure you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great time? Many vacation rental web sites ask for testimonials after your stay is complete. Property owners and property managers will thank you for glowing reviews. If anything was unsatisfactory and they failed to correct it in a acceptable manner, or when the rental home was not as described, you may want to note that as part of your review.

Learn from your Experience

Hold a debrief with your family. How did they feel about the property? If everything was perfect, next year's vacation planning is going to be relatively easy. Maybe the rental home wasn't ideal, and you'll better understand how to improve your search for the next trip.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
