Tips to get the perfect Carolina Beach rental home experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • Summer is high season in the Southport area. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Southport area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. NEW LISTING! OCEANFRONT w\/ pool, close to boardwalk, amazing views! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your trip.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many difficulties.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches. See for yourself by scanning the QR code and call Victory Beach Vacations at 910.458.0868 to book your Cape Fear getaway. Start making your memories today! —Grace Silipigni
