Strategies for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • In the Southport area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Summer months are high season in Wrightsville Beach. Reserve your Southport rental home in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Southport vacation home:

  • To start, have your group select a vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Ocean Views, Beach Access, Luxury Townhouse - Sleeps 10, Ping Pong! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a certain Southport attraction you simply love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
